Tokaj Nobilis Tokaji Aszú 5 Puttonyos, 2019

Thanks to the early start to spring and the hot summer, the grapes ripened earlier too. At harvest, we picked lots of botrytised and shrivelled ‘aszú’ berries; it was one of the best ‘aszú’ vintages in recent years. The aszú berries were macerated in the fermenting base wine for 24 hours. After pressing, the wine was fermented and aged for two years in 220-litre oak barrels.

The nose is dominated by notes of flowers, tea and chamomile, while the palate is silky, rounded and long. It is a very intense and well-balanced wine. The high natural residual sugar is nicely offset by the crisp acidity and an elegant minerality in the persistent finish.
